Aveh: The Nation of Sands
Comprised of Dazil, Bledavik, and a lot of open space, Aveh is a nation which may lack in water, but has the lion's share of Gear excavation sites.
Those who call these lands home--and there are a lot of them--must occasionally contend with roaming nomads, the ever-present Gebler, and the pirates. Combine that with occasional threats from Kislev, and Aveh is not entirely a peaceful land.
It does attract an interesting group of people through it, though. (^_^)
As a note, these logs were demanded in large amounts from various RPers, and so are old, contain large amount of minor conversations, etc, etc. They have been edited for spoilers for some people, but we may not have picked up all of them. If you are in one of these logs and want a part (or the entire thing) removed, simply ask Dominia or Kelvena. It's that simple. (^_^)
Logs:
Bledavik:
Deduction, plain and simple.: While wandering around Bledavik, Miriam meets Sigurd. The two talk about Fatima Castle, the possibilities of infiltrating it, and Bart while Michael_Fenn walks in and out. Fei eventually shows up, and Sigurd departs with the young man. ((3/26/00))
What did you expect with all those Gears around?: In a mass throng outside Bledavik's gate, a minor encounter between Ramsus and Sigurd goes by, with Dominia, Fei, Sirus, Alliah, Ira, and Benjamin all present, in various roles. ((3/26/00))
Innocence Seems to be an Enemy of God.: At the fountain in Shakhan Square, a certain Solarian Doctor comes down to relax, and meets Kale. The two talk about the value of peace and Nisan before Julian and Scud arrive. ((8/11/00))
Just stopping by...: The Tournament is on the horizon for Aveh, and Shakhan relaxes in his throne room to enjoy the day. His peace is interrupted by a visit from Luka and a few pranks from Roni, and Tsukai, his guard, watches it all and thinks. ((1/27/01))
No Vaccinations...: At Bledavik's gate, Kale discovers that Duran foolishly wasted the GA-GS fund on a new Gear! Despite that mistake, they formulate a plan to locate the mysteriously missing Joseph and Casske. ((3/31/02))
Dazil:
That Was Worth More than Any Gold or Silver.: Down by the Lucky Avenue Bar, Rani sings for the crowd of Daos and Arkady. ((4/4/00))
Lunchtime in Dazil.: Amidst Dazil, Miriam and Kyle meet each other to... apparently have lunch. Kyros watches them both for a while, and then Karagin appears to speak with Miriam about the man she saw in Nisan the other day. ((4/5/00))
It Takes All Kinds.: Har and Luka, down to Dazil again, encounter Simo briefly before Julian flies by. Rather than fight, or debate, or argue, everyone rapidly decides... to go get drinks. (O_O) ((6/7/00))
Of course this Gear has coffee!: Having stopped by Dazil, Har runs into Simo again and they both have coffee. They talk about employments, and then Har gives Simo a recommendation and directions to a place that might use a good Gear mechanic... ((6/14/00))
An ex-Kislev soldier in an Aveh city...: On his search for Dr. Citan, Kale encounters a young woman named Miriam in Dazil, and asks her about the matter. ((7/30/00))
Still haven't found him?: Continuing to struggle against national prejudices in his new environment, Kale meets Miriam again on the outskirts of town. This time, Miriam is taking care of a wounded Jonah in the bargain. ((8/1/00))
The Reason I Fight...: After the destruction of Adesha, Amelia has made a new home in Bledavik. This doesn't mean that she isn't still haunted by memories of the attack, and when she sees the soldier named Casske, Amelia becomes frightened again. This in turn leads to discussion of the Gebler, and the events of Adesha. ((9/29/00))
When She Dies, So Does My Soul.: Casske and Dakota talk in a quieter moment about life. Casske brings up some of his personal history, and talks about a woman who was very important to him. The two talk about joy, pain, and loss, and about the effects of guilt and past actions. ((10/30/00))
And how things change...: Miriam and Kale meet in the Lucky Avenue, and catch up on how things have changed since the last time they have seen each other, Kale's recent offer to Cobalt Wing, and the Gebler in general. ((1/2/01))
Twice in as many days!: Kale has another visitor, also from that fateful time over the desert with Cobalt Wing. Har stops by to talk with Kale too, and offers an alternative to simple patroling. ((1/4/01))
First Round... is Mine.: Juniper makes her way into Dazil just in time to encounter Senchei again! Senchei, meanwhile, talks with Kale, and Helios chats with Juniper instead until Jessie appears on the scene. The group adjourns to the Lucky Avenue, but, almost as quickly, breaks up again. And... um, Senchei... (O_o) ((1/8/01))
Whoever Called Me Barkeep... : Down by the Lucky Avenue Bar, Makkani runs into Lithia, Kale, and Jalon, and very nearly causes a large fight to break out. Weapons, at the least, are pulled, and Duran attempts to arrest Makkani. ((1/13/01))
So Quick to Judge.: In a meeting at last between Casske and Makkani, Lithia and Xeero bear witness to the words that are passed between the two men. When the past returns to haunt people, it can do so in the most unexpected ways... (Warning: Casske and Makkani spoilers) ((2/3/01))
One Hand Does Not a Victory Make.: In a round of cards, and chips that fly back and forth, Joseph and Duran let time pass by while they talk about a few current events and a little about the Tournament. ((2/13/01))
Poetry Interrupted: Kale and Duran, on a boring scouting run, find Talon writing poetry next to the Water Tower. Misconceptions are remembered, and rivalries ignite. ((3/14/02))
The Deserts...:
If there's so much desert, can't we share?: Asher, one day, decides to take Cobalt Wing down to the Aveh desert to practice. Miriam and Har tag along to take local readings, and Kale shows up, towing several desert nomads and a weapon. Things get more complicated when Ryukumu appears, and the Yggdrasil itself finally makes a showing in what almost was a very messy fight. ((8/8/00))
You... wander, Citan.: Ever since being in Khiea's dream, Citan has been a little distracted. This time, he is sleepy enough to go wandering around the desert, under the impression that he was still in one of the other logs from months ago, and looks for Sigurd. Instead, he meets Xeero and Dakota, and finally Sigurd stops by to pick up the poor Doctor. ((1/6/01))
The Answer to the Pearl.: While Kale takes some time to himself on night, a winged creature and his rider happen to be passing by. Metatron and Fukano land, Jalon stops by; but it is Lithia, at last, who attracts Metatron's attention. Which is good, because Jalon had to leave, and Kale had to... also leave. (^_^) ((2/6/01))
Training for everyone!: Out in the Aveh desert, Duran practices for the upcoming Aveh Tournament. While doing so, he encounters Kale, and they both talk about fighting techniques for a while. ((2/13/01))
...And the people who live in them:
We Were in the Neighborhood...: When is it strange for two people to walk the Pirate Base, to cheerfully ask about a missing girl? Only when those two people are an Elite Etone and a Gebler Major, that's when. Sigurd, Talon, and Julian are there to greet them, Julian repeatedly threatens the two, and Erine and Har... smile. A /lot/. ((6/2/00))
Quick! After that... who was that again?: In a very confusing series of encounters, Luka and Har come back down to the Desert base, and immedietly get distracted by a girl who has been taken in by the pirates only a short time ago. Lia, meanwhile, is having issues with her mobility suit, Aeria eventually reappears from running around everywhere, and everyone sits down for fudge afterwards. ^.^ ((6/13/00))
Doesn't Anyone Here Play Cards?: On one of her many trips to the desert base, Luka runs into a still-healing Ryan_Jackson. They talk about recent events on all sides. ((6/20/00))
There Must Always Be an Other.: Back again, Luka arrives at the base in the middle of a discussion between Lia and Ryan_Jackson about Juniper. They adjourn to the Dining Hall, and conversation makes its way to nationalities, leaderships, and societies. ((6/22/00))
Family Ties.: Ryukumu, still unhappy after his return to the desert base, does not quite understand the appearance of Luka among the pirates. Ryan_Jackson is also there for a little light banter. A short log after being cut off. ((7/2/00))
I Want to Know.: Fei, Citan, and Sage meet at the desert base near the elevators, and talk. An upset Sigurd walks through, and everyone's nerves end up sparking. ((7/9/00))
Sometimes Acceptance is All That Can Be Done.: Back in the Dining Hall, Citan runs into Anna. Worried about her son, Ryukumu, Anna talks with the Doctor about Solaris and what Ryukumu has recently gone through. (Warning: Ryukumu Spoilers.) ((7/9/00))
That is Exactly What They Would Want.: Citan, back in the base, and still reading his book from Nisan, talks with Ryukumu about his recent escape. Elly stops by after a cooking burn, and the conversation is broken by the arrival of Saul to the base itself. After a confrontation with Ryukumu, Anna, and Saul, with Citan looking on, the doctor leaves with a few words about Solaris and its lessons. (Warning: Ryukumu Spoilers.) ((7/12/00))
When the future is uncertain...: Sirus and Luka finally make it down to visit the Pirates, so that Sirus can speak to an old friend, Ryukumu, who had been feeling guilty for Sirus's sacrificing of himself so that Ryukumu could escape. Ryukumu also makes a request of Luka in regards to the families of those whom he killed, and Elly is also there to add to the conversation. ((7/19/00))
