((Logged 8/1/2000)) Outside Dazil Contents: Jonah Miriam Hu Hsien (Gear) Kale has arrived. Miriam shakes her head sadly, and opens up the kit. "Don't strain yourself..." She searches through the supplies inside, ignoring most of them. Kale walks in, carrying a rather large bag. He has a faintly distressed look on his face, and seems to be limping. Sweat drips from one of his ears, and he curses softly to himself as he bats at a fly buzzing around his head. Jonah smiles. "Don't worry yourself about it," he replies to Miriam softly. "I should be fine as long as I rest myself." He leans back against the Gear, still sitting, and sees the newcomer. Not blinking an eye, he nods to the man. Miriam looks up from the medical kit. Seeing the demihuman she spoke to the other day, she also greets him with a marginal nod. "Hello there." She finds a roll of gauze, and searches for the scissors. Kale nods warily towards the two. "Hello." Walking over towards a pile of crates, boxes and other assorted containers near Dazil's walls, he goes to a small chest. Kale reaches into his belt pouch and takes out a small key, and is about to unlock the chest when he realizes that someone has bashed in the back of it, and taken out all the contents. Kale's tale begins tapping the ground repeatedly, and he sighs. "I really shouldn't've been surprised." Jonah rolls up one of his sleeves, taking off the glove slowly. He winces while he does. "Are you all right, sir?" he calls to Kale, although his raised voice is barely louder than normal speech. Miriam stops looking through the kit. She inclines her head to Jonah with a smile, and glances over to Kale. Seeing him at the storage area that travelers use for temporary purposes, she nods knowingly. "You should have paid someone to watch over it," she says. "There are dozens of street rats around who do nothing else." Kale cringes. "I did." Kale tilts his head to the side, thinking. "In fact, he was probebly the person who broke my chest and stole all my possesions." Kale shakes his head ruefully, then looks at Jonah. "I'm fine." Jonah nods. The left glove is draped over his leg while he holds out a hand for the gauze which Miriam holds. "Were they everything that you had?" Miriam breaks into a smile. "They must have recognized your accent," she teases, not unkindly. She give the roll to Jonah, and starts to unwind the bandage on his hand and arm carefully. "That's what happens, I suppose..." Kale sighs. "Fortunetly, no, but it did contain some valuable equipment." Kale looks at Miriam and smiles slightly. "You're probebly right. It causes me no end of trouble." Jonah can't help wincing as the bandage is peeled away from his wounds, although they are no longer open but are simply raw. "Well, is there anything we can help you with? We can sympathize with travelers being inconvenienced." Miriam looks at Jonah quickly, muttering something under her breath in a hiss. Then she shrugs and sets her hand to just barely touch the damaged part of the arm, palm glowing faintly. "You should find your doctor soon, before some drunk in a bar decides to take out years of bitterness on you." Kale chuckles slightly. "One did, just yesterday. It didn't go to well for him." Kale glances at Jonah. Looking concered, he says "What happend to you?" Jonah smiles weakly. "I was attacked by desert nomads," he replies. "I cannot blame them. They were desperate for money and supplies, and hungry... ouch." He flinches against the touch, but forces himself to relax. "Though I should really lie down again for a while." Miriam nods emphatically. "Don't you dare exert yourself. Why don't you go rest inside?" She wraps up Jonah's arm carefully, and points to the Gear. "You've told me to take it easy enough times... I don't want to see you passing out in the worst places either." Kale thinks for a moment. "I've run into them before. I've heard that some of them are peaceful, but never met them myself." Kale nods at Miriam's suggestion. "She's probebly right. It can't be good for you to be out here in your condition." Jonah smiles at them both and gets up slowly. He leans on the Gear and on his staff to do so, nodding to Kale in farewell before limping painfully into the Gear. "It was nice to meet you, by the way. I wish you better luck with your travels." Jonah has left. Miriam closes the Gear's door halfway behind Jonah to give him some quiet. She begins to pack up the medical kit again. "Do you have enough money to feed yourself, at least?" Kale nods. "I had mainly electronics in the chest, which is most likely why the urchin I payed to watch it stole them. He could sell them to the Ethos for a good amount." Kale scratches his ear. "But I have enough money to last me at least a week or two. Miriam shrugs and slides the kit into the Gear. "That's good. And good for the child too, I suppose, since it gives him something to eat off of. You can recover the parts from the Ethos if they're really that imporant to you. Have you heard of any leads to your doctor yet?" Kale shakes his head. "I looked in Bledivek, but didn't find him there. I did run into some of my friends, though." Kale's tail taps the ground. "And you're right about the parts...I just hope someone else hasn't bought them yet." Miriam kneels down in the sands to brush at her shoe. "The sooner you check, the better. The Ethos has a high trade here in Dazil... I've seen parts disappear in an hour, depending on their quality. Then again, Kislevi parts might take longer since not all Gears around here are compatible." Kale nods thoughtfully. "Your right. Well, I better be off." Miriam straightens back up again, and waves. "Good luck." Kale waves back as he hefts his bag. "Thank you. And I hope the boy heals well." Kale has left.
