((Logged 6/20/2000)) Guest Room Contents: Luka Ryan_Jackson Luka knocks lightly upon the door. Ryan_Jackson seems awake, and is resting on one of the guest room beds. He's still pretty torn up, and the various bandages all over would confirm this, but at least he isn't "death warmed over." He calls to the door, "Come in!" The door slides open, Luka entering with a slight frown that remains despite the general attempt to dispel it. She halts a few steps in, examining Ryan's wounds. "Ryan, is this a poor time?" Ryan_Jackson shakes his head, getting into a more comfortable posistion. "Not at all. In fact, boredom's starting to really set in..." Luka crosses to the bed across, sitting neatly down at its edge. "Forgive the interruption. I was in the area... are you still badly wounded? What happened?" Ryan_Jackson chuckles. "I got into a fight with some weird...shadow...cat thing. You should see what happened to the cat, really." He smiles. "What brings you here at this time?" Luka smiles faintly, sighing as recent memory still makes her fingers twitch in irritation. "I stopped by to see how Sigurd was doing, as well as everyone else. Also to see if my cousin was still staying here..." Ryan_Jackson thinks... "Let's see...Sigurd? I haven't seen him much in the last few days, obviously. But I'm told he is around and about, doing something important. A 'Miang' and 'Grahf' showed up a few days ago and caused a bit of trouble, hit him a little but it didn't seem to really shake him up too bad. As for your cousin...call me scatterbrained, but I must of missed that conversation. Who are you referring to?" Luka nods, leaning back slightly on the bed. "I'd expected them to arrive. You say that he is still fine despite that? Good..." Pushing up her glasses, she thinks for a moment. "I do not know quite yet what their current schedule is like. Troubling." Dismissing that with a wave, she answers the last question. "The girl in the patchwork dress who was about here earlier. Red hair, speaks with a bit of an odd turn to her phrasing." Ryan_Jackson nods. "He seems to be fine, yes." He doesn't quite 'get it' with Luka's mention of Miang's and Grahf's schedule, and just looks confused. Mentioning of Aeria brings realization to his face. "Her? I...haven't seen her lately. I'm guessing nothing terrible has happened to her though, it's not the talk of the base or anything like that, so that's about as far as I can guess, sorry." Luka folds her hands in her lap for lack of anything better to do with them, looking tired briefly. "It is a good thing that she is not. I am glad that she has been kept well here." Leaning back forward, she glances at Ryan's bandages. "You do not need a healer, do you?" Ryan_Jackson shakes his head, smile growing. "I'm sure she's getting very good treatment here. They seem rather nice about that, I think. As far as my needing any extra help...I don't believe so, not sure. When I came to, most of my slashes were bandaged up, but for the most part they've left me alone here to rest. Boredom more than any actual threat to life and limb is what's getting to me." "You want to continue training at Fei's side." Luka smiles, standing to walk over and give a cursory inspection of the visible bandages. "I could attempt to accelerate the process myself, but I understand if you just want to rest. Doesn't anyone play cards around here with you?" Ryan_Jackson chuckles. "No...can't say I blame them either. Things are pretty busy, they have more important things to do than mess around with a card game, I'm sure." Then he remembers Luka's previous words about Fei and accelerating the healing. He nods very enthusiastically. "Speeding it up...how? If you know of a way, I'd be happy to try it, Fei must be a little disappointed I've been down and out for this long, he certainly wouldn't of needed this kind of time, I'm sure." Luka glances again at the bandages. "Even Fei must slow down sometimes. I am capable of minor acts of healing Ether... if it were more serious, I could bring a more skilled practicioner, but perhaps this will get you back on your feet a little faster. May I?" Ryan_Jackson nods. He can't see what the harm would be. "Certainly. Thank you." Luka takes her glasses off, folding them into a pocket of her uniform. "Ether reacts a little differently for me, but it is nothing serious," she warns, closing her eyes to call up a softly glowing palmful of pale white force. Passing her hand over Ryan's torso and legs in a first diagnostic, she narrows her eyes and nods at the report given. Folding out her second hand, Luka concentrates on cleaning possible infection and closing the worst of the wounds. Ryan_Jackson seems surprised, perhaps awed at this, since he hasn't seen much ether before. A quick self-examination reveals he feels a bit better than he did earlier. "Wow...thanks! How did you do that, anyway? No one I've met before could do that sort of thing." His smile just broadens. Luka lowers her hands, blinking slowly. "I am afraid that I cannot do more. There are others far more skilled than I, but..." Shrugging, she slips her glasses back onto her face. "The wounds have not caught an infection. I fear you must live with boredom a little while longer... would you like a pack of cards?" Ryan_Jackson blinks. "This'll be plenty, more than I hoped for, really." He stops and thinks for a moment on the question. "Cards...you've done a lot for me already, haven't you? I should probably be thinking of something to offer in return." He seems a little disappointed, trying to think of what he has on him. Not much. Luka shakes her head, smiling. "Sometimes it is just right to be a good person. Perhaps the day will come that I will owe you in exchange. All gifts have two sides, a friend once told me." Sighing, she checks her timepiece. "I should be going. Rest up, Ryan, and don't strain the wounds before they heal." Ryan_Jackson nods, having already probably broken that last piece of advice when he was up earlier. "I've heard that expression too. Thank you, again. Good night, then?" Luka smiles again and departs.
