((Logged 2/8/01)) The Thames, Deck You stand upon the deck of a massive floating ship of sorts, well guarded and often crossed by the assorted Gears which walk the Thames. Most of which, however, are ocean salvaging Gears which- by no surprise- appear to be the very lifeblood of this small 'floating town', which thrives off of that which they can salvage from the sea. From where you stand, you can enter the crew Elevator, the pply Entrance, or you can go orth. Those in Gears seeking to leave the Thames and head out to sea can here. Contents: Jalon Quetzal (Gear) Kumori (Gear) Fort Jasper Shuttle Kumori (Gear) lands from the heavens above, its feet touching ground on The Thames' deck. Clanging steel emits from the sound, and the roaring engines of the black Gear cease to function as the Kumori stands up straight, its yellow eyes flashing brightly for a moment as a few Slavager Gears scurry away from its path. Quetzal (Gear) flashes through the sky, arking behind the Kumori. It's fully extended wings flap slowly, and it's tail waves gently as it sets down onto the Thames...with nary a sound. The ominous Kumori drops down to a kneel, as the hatch opens to reveal cloaked figure behind the control panel. The man silently stands up and drops to the deck, his boots clanging on the ground and his robe fluttering behind him in the air. The man stands up from his kneel and stands up straight, his face hidden from view within his hood, the rest of his body covered in a dark brown and tattered robe. The shrouded man looks up at the arrived Quetzal, and awaits his partner's arrival. The Quetzal's wings fold behind it, and it's tail stills. The hatch open, and Kale jumps down, landing carefully on the deck. His ears twitch, and he smiles as he takes a deep breath of ocean air. Wanderer smiles within his hood as he also takes in a deep breath. His nostrils were pleased with the change from the arid and hot air of the Aveh desert to the moisturized sky of the Aquavy Ocean, and the sea's sound was calming. Surely, this would be a peaceful place he hoped. The man chuckles. "I can't say how different this place is from Aveh, the differences are astounding. I've never been here before, I'm glad you chose this place." Kale nods, and smiles slightly. He remains quiet for a long moment as he streaches, eliciting a long string of cracks and pops from his body. "...interesting place, ne?" Kale pauses, and listens to the pounding of the waves for a moment. "The Thames is truly majestic...I've been away for much to long." Wanderer nods in his hood, though the movement is silent and is hardly seen from within his hood. "Yes, shall we visit the supply area then? I believe we will need something while we stay here....." Kale nods quickly. "Indeed. Be careful on the screw elevators, though...some people can't handle them." Kale chuckles. "I almost got vomited last time I was here." Wanderer laughs in his hood, the action loud for all to hear. "I could imagine so. Alright, then, let's go." Wanderer swings a thick door open and enters the Supply Entrance. Wanderer has left. The Thames, Supply Entrance This vast, multi-leveled area is dedicated to one purpose alone- to store that which the Thames picks up at sea. Workmen dash all about this area, left to their work and their loud, boisterous talk, as they walk about in eternal boasting, mixed with the strain of their work. One can xit the supply entrance to the deck here, or go own a level to the other parts of this area. Contents: Light Armor+2-359412 Frame HP30-359412 Kale glances around, watching the bustle of the Supply area with a slightly bemused look on his face. "So...what are we looking for today?" Wanderer scratches his head. "Well, I've never been here.....and I thought this was a supply area for buying supplies." Jalon is no embarrassed and realizes that he had never been here before. "I think you should lead the way now." Kale nods, and glances around again. "Do you want to get our Gears serviced first, or get some fuel for us." Kale's ears twitch. "I wonder if they still have those pancakes..." Jalon thinks for a moment as he pulls his hood off. "Hmm...maybe we should get the Gears fueled up and readied, and then we'll get a bite to eat. Sound good?" Jalon grins at the thought of food. Kale nods, tail twitching. "Sounds good to me. Just a refuel and tune up, then...unless you want something extra, Jalon?" Jalon shakes his head. "I don't need anything. But don't let me hold you back, if you need something, go for it!" Kale shakes his head. "Nah. I'll go place the order." Kale walks away, and comes back minutes later. "Done. They put the bill on my tab." Jalon nods at Kale. "Alright then. Let's head down into this ship and get some food!" Jalon grins and heads out of the Supply Area. Jalon opens a thick door leading to the deck and steps out into the glare of the sun. The Thames, Beer Hall Here is the Thames' famous Beer Hall- small in size but quite possibly the most populated area on the Thames. All about people drink, talk, and play cards under the brilliant lighting granted by the literal wall of windows which look out over the endless sea. Perhaps the term, 'all doors lead to the Beer Hall' fits upon the Thames, as from here you can go to the ick Bay, the Screw levator, or even onto the ridge of the Thames. Contents: Jalon Ah...the beer hall. More properly called the mess hall, this establishment holds everything from beer, to pancakes, to ...more beer. Kale walks in, tail twitching behind him. Jalon steps out of the Screw Elevator after Kale, wobbling after the wacky ride. After finally regaining his balance, he looks up and looks about the Beer Hall. "Oh yeah, peace and quiet." He grins at Kale and takes another step to test his bearings. Kale glances around. The Hall is fairly empty at this hour... a couple of drunks and late diners are arond, but it's fairly empty. Kale begins walking toward an empty table, and gestures for Jalon to follow. Jalon follows Kale and sits down at the table. "Well, not so bad a start, eh?", he says after reflecting over the short time they had spent at The Thames. "You seem to know your way better around here, would you get the food? Possibly some of those pancakes you spoke of during the trip here." Jalon grins and gives Kale some of his money, to pay for his own ration. Kale waves to a waiter. Within minutes, a large platter of pancakes, crabcakes, and scrambled eggs is set down on their table, along with a pitcher of water. Kale quickly flips several of the pancakes off the platter, and onto his plate. "Hmmm...this is the only place I know of that serves crabcakes with pancakes..." Jalon laughs at Kale's humor of the food the Beer Hall has to offer. "Not a combination I had often imagined." Yet, though the menu was strange, Jalon did not care and happily filled his own plate with a few pancakes, crabcakes, and a little bit of eggs. Kale quickly polishes off his eggs, then doggedly begins working on the pancakes. "So...what do you think of *MUNCH* the Thames?" Jalon nods as he gobbles down his own eggs and crab cakes before starting on the pancakes. He talks with food in his mouth....how unmannerful. "Pretty nice so far. I haven't found any faults yet." Kale grins, and sips some more water. "I have no idea how they keep it going year after year... but they do." Jalon laughs after he swallows a mouthful of pancakes. "I can't imagine how." He takes a large gulp of water. Kale thoughtfully eats a crabcake. Carefully slicing it into four peices with unsusual neatness...he then munches them all at once. "We might find something interesting dredged up." Jalon nods. "Possibly. Sometimes interesting things can be found in the ocean, I've heard. Gears and such. Maybe even some parts to enhance our Gears further." He eats another half of a pancake, swallows it, and finishes it off, taking another swig of water. Kale finishes his crabcakes. "Exactly. They have quite an interesting operation out here." Jalon eats another two pancakes, takes a large gulp of water, and wolfs down the rest of his food to catch up with Kale. "Yeah. Maybe we -could- find something out here while finding some thinking time." Kale thoughtfully looks out a window. "I wonder what could be out there...right beneth the waves." Jalon looks down at his plate, his stomach not feeling very well at all. Perhaps he shouldn't have eaten so fast...? "No..erk...telling." Kale glances at Jalon, a slightly embaressed look on his face. "I might've ordered us a bit much...I forgot that you don't eat as much as I do..." Jalon grins at Kale. "What makes you think...erk...Ok, maybe you're right. I -don't- eat as much as you do." The time for being macho was -not- now. Kale glances toward a metal door..."Maybe you should go to sickbay...or at least have some rest." Jalon nods. "All I need is a little rest....which reminds me...shouldn't we get some place to stay?" Jalon nods. "You go...erp...do that then." Kale and Jalon stand up from the table, the sickly Jalon stumbling after Kale into the screw elevator, where they exit the Beer Hall in search of rooms......
