Light flooded the stained glass windows, despite the cool breeze and threatening storm over the town of Nisan. The nuns all sang hymns, some in prayer as they praised God and all the great doings of the world, and begging forgiveness for those that were done in ill venue.

Amidst their prayers, lightning streaked the sky and thunder shook the heavens as the light faded and it began to rain. Their song failed to break despite. The doors of the cathedral opened stiffly, creaking loudly and betraying to those that were not of the clergy in the church to a new presence, one tall and covered in a dark and hooded cloak-- heavy for the quality of being impervious to the weather. From the looks of things, she was in the rain longer than the rain was in Nisan...

Pulling it aside, the tall figure was revealed to be indeed female by her face, braid falling from around her neck as she drew closer to the sisters, stopping now to look back in a curious sort of wonder at the female. Her hands were oddly gloved, and... well, just her height made her seem a little imposing. The accent was hard to place, though it certainly was thick.

"I must speak with Holy Mother Margurite. Where may I find her?"

Sister Agnes found her voice as she stepped toward the rain-drenched woman. "The Holy Mother is not here at this time. I am her representative." she stated in a most regal manner. "May you speak with me?"

Pausing for a long moment, the woman sighed and shifted her gaze to one side before resuming unto Sister Agnes. "... the Holy Mother must return here immediately. I represent a ... nation... that would like to discuss urgent matters with her. Our ambassador is en route now, and we would like to hold private audience with her regarding the matter."

Before the nun could respond, the tall woman had already turned to exit, the hood raised to shield her face as she ventured into the dim of the stormy evening, pausing to look back. Though her face was cast still in shadow, there was a chill that spread from that gesture, one that left a mild air of uneasyness as the doors of the cathedral drifted closed with a heavy crunch.

Settling into the beige Gear settled at the edge of the forestry, the rain-soaked hood was tugged back once again as she tapped a few keys on the consoles to her left, some next to her knee, some above her head. Power usage was minimal at the moment-- good way of keeping oneself hidden. The communications system whirred to life, a series of small dots appearing across the small monitor built into the center console before the communications line secured itself and the image came into view.

"Message delivered. Waiting for orders, ma'am."

(2/1/02 : Margie)

Days later, upon the Sandcruiser Yggdrasil.. The Holy Mother of Nisan was simply baffled to say the least.

She read over the letter from Sister Agnes once, and then again. Wondering, for all the world, what exactly had just happened. But no matter how many times she read it, or how thoroughly she read through those sentences.. The entire issue still remained simply -vague-.

And yet, from the tone of the letter.. the Sister seemed to be just as confused.

"..An ambassador from an undeclared nation... With a heavy foreign accent... Requires my presence back home?"

She murmered the words softly aloud, only frowning mildly in response to realize that they made no more sense in that medium than they did in the letter. With a faint sigh, she folded the letter neatly, returning it to the envelope it was delivered in, finishing her wondered thoughts aloud.

"Something about this doesn't sound right at all..."

And yet, she could hardly neglect her duties as the Holy Mother, could she? Nor turn away an ambassador on the basis of paranoia. An ambassador was simply a messager, after all. And if this person had information that Nisan needed to hear...

Well.

This seemed like an ideal time to ask what everyone else aboard the Yggdrasil thought of it.
