The Book and the Gun: The -Ethos-
The Ethos was once a proud and mighty institution, reaching to the heavens and across much of the globe. Providing new technology and parts for the valuable Gears, the Ethos had a very stable position.
And then one day, the Bishop was forced to come and clean house.
Even though the Ethos has suffered a massive blow to its internal structure, though, the institution has managed to get back to its feet. The Ethos still is in possession of the best medical equipment on the surface, and they continue to fund orphanages and sell Gear supplies.
The new Leader of the Church, Erine, continued in Stone's example by reorganizing the Ethos Church under gentler reins. The New Ethos seems to be far kinder and accepting than the Old. But is that all just a trick, or is it the truth? And just where /is/ Bishop Stone?
No one knows, but the Ethos continues to prosper.
As a note, these logs were demanded in large amounts from various RPers, and so are old, contain large amount of minor conversations, etc, etc. They have been edited for spoilers for some people, but we may not have picked up all of them. If you are in one of these logs and want a part (or the entire thing) removed, simply ask Dominia or Kelvena. It's that simple. (^_^)
Logs:
The Ethos and the Orphans:
Lemonade?: Back at the Orphanage, Rani has been asked by Kyle to take care of the children. While hanging up some laundry, she meets Luka, who stops by to see how things are doing. ((5/1/00))
Old Companions Reunited.: Fei and Citan meet once more after their long parting from each other, during the evening in the Orphanage's main room. They catch up on news they have missed, and recent events. ((7/7/00))
How Did The Church Come to This?:
Bar /Me/ From My Own Orphanage, Will You?: The non-Etone named Kyle, in taking up the defense of Primera, also brings Rani in to help take care of the children. Bishop Stone meets Rani, and then reassigns Giles_Corey to officially watch over the Orphanage in Billy's absence. ((4/9/00))
The Power of a Little Girl: Bishop Stone arrives at the Orphanage with the intent to kidnap Primera away from Billy, under the pretense of moving the entire Orphanage to safety. The actual result, however, is far, far different. ((4/14/00))
Hard Work is Good for the Soul.: Malkhan visits the Orphanage, while Brother Robin and a strangely happy Bishop Stone tend to repairs. Rani and Kyle appear from within the Orphanage, Janna appears, and Tolen and Nailrek file in later. In a twist of behaviors, Stone and Kyle end up working together to help Janna's health. ((4/17/00))
Just as kind when no none is looking?: In a... more light-hearted log, Bishop Stone recieves a visitor in the shape of Hiryousei. ((5/4/00))
She Fears Me No Longer, Boy.: Billy, after a long imprisonment by a man named Malenkov, returns to the Orphanage in poor condition. Bishop Stone visits with Brother Robin in tow--and isn't that just the cutest little gift for Primera? ((5/19/00))
You and I Know Exactly Where We Stand.: Senchei once asked a favor from the Ethos to help heal Alex. Stone requires information about the man who had kidnapped Alex and Billy both. During the discussion between the two, which almost becomes a messy confrontation, Stone and Senchei bargain further for their own interests. ((5/23/00))
No, I don't believe I needed my trigger fingers, Brother.: Bishop Stone and Brother Robin, on their ongoing maintenance of the Headquarters and Orphanage, repair a church bench. Erine comes in, startles Brother Robin, and she and Bishop Stone speak about Billy's state of health. And Erine gets a promotion of trust! (^_^) ((5/28/00))
Lawless Acts Such as These...: Talon decides to repair his Gear, by using parts from the Dazil Excavation sites. Unfortunately, Brothers Jordan and Kristos happen to notice the intrusion into the Ethos grounds, and stop by to talk to him. Bishop Stone himself arrives, with Erine beside him, and Julian appears to try and shoot people even while being outnumbered. Stone and Erine, however, have a different solution than fighting. ((5/29/00))
The World is Like This Flower.: After Bishop Stone and Erine return from their encounter with Talon and Julian, the Bishop chooses to visit his gardens and speak with Erine... about the truth of the Ethos, and the elevation to one of the Elite Etones, replacing the deceased Brother Jonathon at last.((5/29/00))
And the Ethos has the Orphanage again.: Erine, now promoted, is brought by Bishop Stone to the Orphanage, where they meet Rani. ((5/29/00))
Bearing Gifts.: Bishop Stone visits Primera again, and brings her a single flower and a music box, from his trips out away from the Ethos. Stone prepares to go to Dazil to confront the man who had captured Billy, and Primera smiles at him and waves. (^_^) ((6/2/00))
Look Who Came Home.: Many said it would never occur. Many never /wanted/ it to occur. But on the day that Jessie finally comes home, he does so to the sight... of Primera giving Bishop Stone a hug. ((6/18/00))
Of Course It Was Too Good to Last...: After visiting his son, Jessie goes immedietly to see Stone. The two meet in the Bishop's Gardens, and in a surprising twist of temper--blame it on Primera--Stone manages /not/ to attack his nemesis. Blame Primera. He does, however, end up revealing quite a few of his personal feelings. Hearing of the commotion in the Gardens, Erine visits the Bishop, and is asked by him to take up even more duties... ((7/13/00))
The New Order: Erine
What is Your Price for Silence?: Jessie and Miriam clash once more, this time in the Ethos Gardens. Luckily, or possibly unluckily, Fei is there to keep the situation from turning into anything more than a glare or two between them both. Fei seems to have enough problems of his own at the time, however. (Note: This is also in the Solaris section... but it occurs in the Ethos Gardens. And I was lazy. (^_^)) ((8/18/00))
Roses, Roses, Everywhere.: With Bishop Stone's disappearance and the taking of the Ethos by Erine, Miriam also returns to tend to the Gardens. Ryan_Jackson stops by to speak with her. Unfortunately, a visit by one of the Ministry's floating Eyes, and a trip by a drunken Talon, Casske, and Joseph, demonstrate that such care is necessary. ((9/5/00))
The Children of Aquavy.: Meanwhile, on one of the many uncharted islands of Aquavy, a man named Stein sits down for breakfast with a young, pale-haired girl. Afterwards, they practice at the shooting range, and plan to look for shells... but how could this girl be Primera, when she /talks/? ((1/13/01))
Out for... a picnic?: Stein and Primera wander around the outskirts of Blackmoon Forest and Lahan, intent on finding nothing more than a good place to eat lunch. They pass by Xeero, but soon depart. ((1/20/01))
How Many Have Only Thought Now About Faith...: Continuing their tour of the lands which passed them by while they took their vacation, Stein and Primera stop by the Nisan Cathedral, which is filled with people worried about Jasper and the Solarians stationed there. A few words go by about religion and people, before Stein and Primera join the crowd of those taking shelter for the night in the Cathedral. ((1/26/01))
And the search begins.: Meanwhile, as Primera and Stone visit Nisan, half the world away, Billy searches through the Orphanage for his missing sister. Citan flies by to see where he has been, and Billy shares his concerns, before Citan recommends seeing to the Yggdrasil for help. ((1/26/01))
Where is the Token of Your /Faith/?: Assumed to be during one of the nights when Stein and Primera are resting at the Cathedral, Billy finally tracks down the two of them at last. Billy and Stein confront each other within the Cathedral at night, and Stein... allows Billy to pass. ((2/3/01))
Will You At Least Come Home, Primera?: Having passed Stein, Billy runs up to the upper floors of the Nisan Cathedral to try and bring Primera back. But Primera seems to need no rescue... and shows no sign of happiness at all about seeing her brother again. ((2/4/01))
And She Does Not Dream of Snow.: Back in the Dream, Citan continues to search for Primera, as promised, in his own way. With Khiea's assistance, the two of them finally manage to catch the sleeping girl's mind, and attempt to talk to her. But her responses are not all that were expected... ((2/4/01))
Cookies solve all!: With so many people in and out of the Cathedral, it was only a matter of time before the woman who tried to help calm the place, Miriam, encountered either the Bishop or Primera. Late one night, she meets a restless Primera, and the two talk over a snack. ((2/19/01))
